Welcome to Blogging!

Welcome to blogging, or more dramatically, "the Blog"... dun, dun, dun.  Rather than having you keep a journal that you write in weekly (or more if you choose), I thought we would would try blogging. For this class, you will each create and maintain your own blog.  I will give specific topics or questions that you will need to answer and you may, on occasion, need to respond to your classmates writing. I will explain this more later.

NOTE: For the blog set up, I want you to use your PACT email account. It makes it easier for me and your classmates to identify you.

Assignment part 1: Create your own blog using Blogger and your school email account. You may have a blog already, that's awesome, keep up with that one, even add a link between that one and this new one. I expect that you will use good judgement when it comes to what you post. Play with colors, templates, fonts, gadgets, and give it a unique title -really make it your own.

Assignment part 2: E-mail Mr Morrow p.morrow@pactcharter.org from your school email account, putting  your first and last name in the subject line and a link (I want the full URL) to your blog in the body of the e-mail.

Assignment part 3: Post to your blog! Answer the question... who are you? see blog rubric for what is considered an adequate blog. Challenge: embed images, video, or sound into your post to make it more "cool". Have fun!

Treasure Hunt

In this course, you will be using blogging frequently for your writing and on occasion, I may have a treasure hunt, extra credit, or something like that, so be sure to check often. For example… here is a treasure hunt:  “Somewhere in the classroom there lies  below an arch, a reference to the Ides of March. Lift the parchment to unveil …  a palatable treasure to inhale.” – Good luck … the first student to solve the riddle claims the prize.
